Tesla Cybertruck Takes on a WWII Fighter Jet at the Orlando Air Show.

In a showdown that pitted a futuristic electric vehicle against a vintage warbird, Tesla’s Cybertruck took on a QuickSilver P-51 Mustang at the Orlando Air Show. The result of the race was predictable, with the Cybertruck’s top speed of 130 mph no match for the fighter jet’s significantly higher velocity.

The Competition

The Cybertruck, with its unique design and impressive acceleration, was up against a formidable opponent in the P-51 Mustang. This restored version of the World War 2 fighter aircraft is a force to be reckoned with, boasting a speed that’s twice or more as fast as the Cybertruck.

The Result

Unsurprisingly, the Cybertruck was defeated in the race against the P-51 Mustang. Despite this, Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to a video of the competition with a brief, “Cool.”

The Event

The Orlando Air Show was held between April 20 and 21 at Orlando Sanford International Airport. The event provided an opportunity for the public to witness the Cybertruck’s capabilities firsthand and to admire the beauty of the P-51 Mustang up close.

What This Means for Tesla

This event comes on the heels of a recent recall of 3,878 Cybertruck vehicles due to concerns of unintentional acceleration. According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company will replace or repair the affected vehicles’ accelerator pedal assembly free of charge to the customer.

Tesla’s Plans

Despite the recent setback, Tesla is pushing forward with its plans to ramp up production of the Cybertruck. The company aims to deliver 250,000 units in a year by 2025, with a current production rate of 1,000 units per week.
