Wanted To Show True Elon
Sorkin expressed his desire to reveal the authentic Elon Musk during the interview. He wanted to highlight the different facets of Musk’s personality, providing a more nuanced understanding of the CEO. When asked about Musk’s comments on advertisers, Sorkin stated that he wasn’t upset and acknowledged that Musk was “coming from a tough place.”
Preparing for the Interview
In preparation for the conversation, Sorkin recalled reading a comment made by Musk, where he described his mind as “like a storm.” Sorkin thought this would be an excellent opportunity to delve deeper into Musk’s thoughts and explore the complexities of his personality. He noted that the news industry often portrays individuals as one-dimensional characters, when in reality, everything is “gray.”
Elon Musk Touts X’s AI-Powered Ad Targeting
Musk recently unveiled new ad targeting technology for X (formerly Twitter), promising better personalization. The technology utilizes xAI‘s Grok for AI matching to correlate user interests with specific products or services, resulting in a significantly improved matching process.
However, John Nitti, X’s global head of revenue operations and advertising innovation, has reportedly left the company less than a year into his role. This departure follows a series of top executives leaving Musk’s various ventures.
Starlink’s New Affordable Plan
Meanwhile, SpaceX‘s satellite-powered internet company, Starlink, has introduced a more affordable plan priced at $40/month in the U.S. The plan offers unlimited data with speeds capped at 100 Mbps and is currently available in select locations.
