Arbaugh is also looking forward to receiving a second Neuralink implant, which will be placed below the injury he sustained in a diving accident in 2016. Elon Musk has recently outlined the possibility of humans being able to live forever by uploading snapshots of their minds into Tesla Optimus robots, with Neuralink chips playing a role. According to Musk, this technology could become possible in less than 20 years.
Blindsight and Valuation
Neuralink is also working on a vision-restoring implant called Blindsight, which could potentially restore sight in completely blind people. The company plans to conduct trials of the implant in the UAE by 2026. Additionally, Neuralink has secured over $600 million in Series E funding, taking its valuation to over $9 billion.
