Tesla's Cybercab Prototype Sighting in Washington Reveals Unique Two-Seater Design Without Steering Wheel or Pedals

Tesla’s upcoming two-door Cybercab has been generating buzz since its reveal in October 2024. A production-ready version of the Cybercab was recently spotted, offering a glimpse into the vehicle’s interior design.

Cybercab Features

The Cybercab features a large touchscreen panel in the center of the vehicle and two seats for occupants. Notably, the vehicle has no pedals and no steering wheel, resulting in a more spacious cabin. According to Tesla engineers, the vehicle was built using half the parts of a traditional Tesla vehicle, contributing to the elevated cabin space and increased room for occupants.

Elon Musk’s $30,000 Prediction

Elon Musk has suggested that the Cybercab will be available to the public at a retail price of around $30,000 or less. Tesla recently unveiled a production-ready version of the Cybercab at its Texas Gigafactory, with Musk confirming that the vehicle’s production is on track for April, although it will be “agonizingly slow” at first.

Recent Developments

Tesla has recently experienced high-profile exits, including the loss of 11-year company veteran Thomas Dmytryk, who designed the Robotaxi backend software, and VP of Finance Sendil Palani, who departed the automaker after 17 years. The company is also facing a lawsuit over its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, with a Texas-based Cybertruck owner filing a $1 million lawsuit against Tesla for negligent retention of CEO Musk.

Price Action

Tesla’s stock price declined 3.14% to $395.01 at market close on Thursday but gained 0.17% to $395.70 during the after-hours session. According to recent rankings, Tesla scores well on the Momentum metric and offers a favorable price trend in the long term.
