Gary Black Slams Tesla Bulls Over Criticism of Bearish JP Morgan Analyst

Investor Gary Black of The Future Fund LLC has criticized Tesla bulls for attacking a J.P. Morgan Chase analyst over his bearish sentiments on the electric vehicle giant.

Analyst Credibility

Black expressed his criticism in a post, stating that instead of addressing the analyst’s arguments, Tesla bulls are personally attacking Ryan Brinkman, the J.P. Morgan analyst. Brinkman has predicted that Tesla will turn free cash flow negative this year. Black noted that although Brinkman has been wrong on Tesla for 10 years, he has been right for the past five years, giving him some credibility.

Analyst Predictions on Tesla Stock

J.P. Morgan has given Tesla a “sell” rating, predicting a 60% decline in the company’s stock performance. However, not all analysts share this bearish view. Andrew Percoco of Morgan Stanley has predicted that Tesla will deliver over 1.6 million vehicles in 2026 and that the Robotaxi ramp-up in Austin will be a crucial catalyst for the stock’s value.

Tesla’s Q1 2026 Delivery Figures

Tesla recently published its Q1 2026 delivery figures, which fell short of analyst consensus. The company delivered over 358,000 vehicles worldwide, but produced over 408,000 units in Q1 2026. This has resulted in over 50,000 Tesla vehicles sitting unsold in the company’s lots, a new record.

Price Action

Tesla’s stock price fell 2.15% to $352.82 at market close on Monday and further declined by 0.83% to $349.88 during overnight trading.

Momentum and Growth

According to rankings, Tesla offers poor momentum and satisfactory growth, but fails to provide a favorable price trend in the short, medium, and long term.
