Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has accused rivals in the humanoid robot space of copying the company’s robotics technology. During a recent earnings call with investors, Musk stated that competitors are conducting a “frame-by-frame analysis” of Tesla’s work and replicating it.

Pushing the Optimus 3 Unveil Closer to Production

Musk announced that Tesla plans to unveil the Optimus 3 robot closer to its production date, which is expected to be around July or August this year. The CEO believes that there is value in not showcasing new technology until it is near production, as this can help prevent competitors from copying Tesla’s innovations.

Optimus Production Line Revamp

The Optimus production line has been revamped, as it was originally used to produce the Model S and X premium vehicles. According to Musk, “Optimus is a completely new product with a completely new production line.”

Tesla’s Valuation and Criticism from Investors

Despite Tesla’s positive earnings report, investor Gary Black expects the company’s value to decline due to the slowing down of its autonomous and Robotaxi efforts. Additionally, investor Ross Gerber criticized Tesla after Musk admitted that vehicles equipped with the Hardware 3 (HW3) chip would not be able to achieve Unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD).

Sales Performance

Tesla recorded a decline in sales in California, delivering 31,958 units in the first quarter of the year, which is over 10,000 units lower than the same period in 2025. However, the Model Y remained the best-selling electric vehicle in the state.

Tesla’s stock price declined 0.31% to $386.30 in after-hours trading on Wednesday. According to rankings, Tesla offers satisfactory momentum but poor value, with a favorable price trend in the long term.
