Tesla Releases a Bicycle, But It's Not the Cyberbike Enthusiasts Were Hoping For

For years, fans of Tesla have been requesting the company to expand its offerings to include more vehicles, such as a minivan, motorcycle, or airplane. Although Tesla has no plans to make motorcycles, the company is now selling bikes for kids.

Key Features of the Tesla Balance Bike

  • The bike has no motor or pedals and is meant for kids in the 2 to 5-year-old age group
  • It features a lightweight magnesium frame, adjustable seat, and futuristic design
  • The bike has five height levels and tools to assemble it are included
  • The minimum leg length for the bike is 13.7 inches
  • The recommended weight limit for the bike is 66.1 pounds, with a maximum weight limit of 77.1 pounds

Tesla Balance Bike for Sale

The Tesla Balance Bike is currently sold out, but consumers can join the email list to find out when more are available. The balance bike is estimated to start shipping in late August. The bike is priced at $225, which is a premium for most balance bikes, but comes close to the pricing for the premium end balance bikes.

Tesla Grows Merchandise

The Mini-Tesla section also includes the Cybertruck for Kids ($1,500) and Cyberquad for Kids ($1,650). Those large Tesla items are for children ages 6-12 and 9-12, respectively. Unlike the balance bike, those items are also electric and can last for 12 miles or more on a single charge. Tesla also offers items like wind-up cars, wooden playsets, the Tesla Bot action figure, and diecast models.

Expanding Customer Base

For a company that has grown its customer base through strong word-of-mouth advertising and building a group of long-time fans, having merchandise across different age groups could create the next group of customers. The Tesla Balance Bike is a great example of this strategy, as it allows kids to experience the Tesla brand at a young age.
